Lilly's Sleep Journal

I have a 9 month old. A 9 month old that up until two nights ago has slept in my bed. I have loved every sweet, snuggling, warm bodied night of it. Heck if it was up to me I would not kick her out...ever. I love seeing her every time my eyes open. BUT alas...it is not just to my liking that I raise a child. It is up to me and Clayton and what is best for Lilly usually wins out.

We tried once before over spring break to put Lilly in her crib but I was not ready and neither was Lilly. It went from making Clayton sleep on her floor with a sleeping bag to me just grabbing her no matter what Clayton said.

Two nights ago Lilly was all over bed, she wouldn't go to sleep. She was talking and crawling everywhere. So we decided that Lilly needed to go to her bed if she wanted to play because we needed to sleep. So it was the moment of truth we knew it wasn't going to be easy but we too k the leap.

That first night she only cried a few minutes, less than 5 maybe even less than 3 and she stopped. She sat down and waited for us to come but when we did not she just laid her head over and went to sleep sitting up. It was cute but looking uncomfortable so we went in about 20 minutes later and put her down and covered her. She slept through the night and Clayton brought her to me at 7 when he went to work and she continued to sleep till about 8:30. It was wonderful.

I was on a "sleeping in her own crib" high and was gonna try a nap but it seemed doomed from minute one so I gave up almost immediately and she ended up not napping.

That evening we started the bedtime routine around 8:30 and gave her a bath, then read her a book and cuddled. Then at 9:00 she went into her crib. It took her 27 minutes of crying to finally fall asleep but she did and she slept through till 4:47 this morning and I just brought her to bed with me. The Clayton brought me a bottle at 6:30 and she slept again till 8:30.

Another success as far as we are concerned.

As I type she is in her crib for nap try number two. It so far is not going well. It has been 20 minutes of crying and it slows down then picks right back up. I don't know if naps are going to stay a part of what we are trying to complete. It might just be too much for all at once.

It breaks my heart to hear her so upset, but I know her falling asleep on her own and getting the right amount of sleep is going to be good for her.
Stay tuned for more on Lilly's sleep journal as I am sure it will be a bumpy ride.

Relay For Life 2010

This is Lilly and her cousin Ralph at Relay For Life 2010.

We always have a team and this is my 7th year to participate with Team Cermak. That's our team's name in memory of Dawn's Father (Clayton's grandfather). The first year he was there with them and ever since it has been in memory. Then my grandmother passed away from cancer and then Lori and so on. So we really try to raise as much as we can every year to cure this terrible disease.

Lilly, of course, loved all the boxes.

Our team used to sell 2 things. Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Confetti Eggs. Well party-pooper Burleson put all these restrictions on food and you have to prepare it in a church or school and have to have a food handler's permit and other junk. It was a lot of work when this is the only thing all year that we would use it for so we went to only confetti eggs.

That's our campsite.

This year we bought 672 doz. eggs to sell because previously we have ordered 400 doz. and sell out about 9 or 10 pm.

Holly and Lilly playing at the campsite.

We did really well considered that it rained out about 10:00pm. Well not officially but with babies we decided to leave. We made 2,000 dollars and still had 200 doz eggs left so we have a head start on next year. I even made about 50 dollars selling Lilly's Frillies Stuff. I was so stoked.

But my ribbon got wet and molded so it was pretty much a wash since my left over materials to make more got ruined. Oh well it was for a great cause and we had a blast. I even won a cake at the cake walk!

My Easter Lilly

Little Miss Lillian Olivia had her very first Easter and boy was it precious.
This is our sweet family on our way to church.

Here Lilly is with her Granddaddy and her new Baby that the Easter Bunny brought Lilly. She is wearing the sweet outfit that her great great great aunt Lily Mae made for her before she was born. There was a bonnet, jacket and blanket that all matched. We just love it, it is so sweet.

Kissing her baby.
Playing with an egg in her Easter Dress at Grandma's and Granddaddy's after church.

Lilly and Great Grandpa were working on her first taste of cantelope and she loved it. She just looked at him like he had opened an entire new world to her, a world of fresh fruit.

Laster in the day at Uncle Scott and Aunt Michele's Lilly was completely entertained by one of those balls that you hold the rubberband and punch it. She just chased it around on the floor though.

See.

Lilly and Daddy mentally preparing for the egg hunt ahead. Luckily Daddy and the Easter bunny are like this ~twists to fingers extremely close together~ and he knew where all teh eggs were hid.

Getting the basket ready to recieve. Isn't it a cute basket to have for her whole life? That's what I told Clayton when he saw how much I paid for it. Oh and it was on sale so worries!

Going in deep for this one. I thought this was the first one she had founf but the purple one in the basket would make me a liar.

Showing Mommy the orange one she just got out of a bush.

Doesn't know if she wants the eggs in the basket because then she cannot play with them.

Alright there are only two hands and so far three eggs so reason won out and in the basket they went.

She is so cute! Notice the shoes. And the Ruffles. Swoon!

Found another one...she was a natural.

Ok so we found 18 in all and held our own against the big kids. Overall a wonderful Easter and even better with my sweet Easter Lilly.
